Gildor says, “Looks like there are some bodies down here.” Pointing out what he sees. “There is some writing over here too and the ladder going down, seems spaced too far for us to use to climb. I’ll cast comprehend languages and translate it all to everyone. Be careful down here we don’t know what killed these bodies and don’t touch anything.” Gildor casts Comprehend languages and translates the Illithid text. Continue reading “76. Strange New Worlds”
The Kuo-Toa commander leads the party and the four dwarves to the teleport disc, on to the lair of the Illithid and finally to the steel ring. Once again the party are struck by the pressure and humidity of the lair. Twenty Kuo-Toa stand guard near the arrival disc. Gordon hears the commander order half to follow him and the rest to stand ready to guard the dwarves who will arrive and collect the bodies of their fallen. Continue reading “75. Midday Bell, Ardu, 15th of Gurthweni
Cynan returns to Hagar and makes his offer of help.
“You are welcome to try Lord Harnanca, I can muster 50 warriors to go with you. Remember to keep some to guard the fortress if you take it. If you can’t, then we go back to the original plan and seal the tunnels with black powder. I’ll give you a week, if you don’t return by then, then I’m assuming you won’t be back at all. You can have whatever gear you think you’ll need. Thraim worked on the route down to the magic platforms so you might find your journey a tad easier. We hold the top of the tunnel by the great round lake with an island in the centre. The kuo-toa have tried to come up from the long lake below but we’ve killed any that get more than halfway up with heavy crossbows. How much time do you need to prepare?” Continue reading “74. A chat with the Kuo-Toa”
Celebdu, 15th of Gurthweni

Mid-Evening Bell, Urladu, 11th of Gurthweni
Gordon will continue with his conversion and furnishing of the upper rooms for Gildor and himself. He will then draw up a list of items for equipping the alchemy lab.
Hopefully this will leave him time to practice with his bow to become more proficient.
“Anytime you want to practice Gordon. I will gladly join you.” Kradorn replies.
“Hezard my apologies for being slow to respond.”
“That’s Herzad… sir.” says the dwarf with a resigned look. Continue reading “72. Snow”
Just before Mid-Morning Bell the party arrive at Harnanca to be greeted by Herzad who’s working on laying the foundations for the inn, general store and warehouse while the stonemason, carpenter and labourers move materials up the steps to begin the repairs on the keep high above. Off to one side stands a stack of timber, slate roof tiles and boxes of nails, small panes of glass etc. Apart from a couple of guards on the outer wall most of the soldiers are helping Herzad, striped down to the waist and wielding picks or spades. From the delicious smell they’ve only just finished breakfast.
Herzad reports that nothing much has happened apart from a couple of warg scouts, spotted off to the west by one of the patrols.
